Hanzade Vasfiye Doğan Boyner

After receiving her BSc in economics at the London School of Economics, Hanzade Doğan Boyner joined Goldman Sachs International in London as a financial analyst for the Communications, Media and Technology Group, where she was involved in merger and acquisition deals.
She completed her MBA at Columbia University in 1999 and returned to Turkey the same year to launch the Internet service provider Doğan On-Line, which quickly grew to be Turkey’s leading ISP.
Currently, she is the Vice Chairman of Doğan Gazetecilik, which makes up 35% of the Turkish newspaper market with Milliyet, Radikal, Posta, Fanatik and Vatan newspapers in its portfolio. She also serves as a member of the Board of Petrol Ofisi and Doğan Holding.
Boyner is the Vice President of the World Association of Newspapers (WAN), Co-founder of Global Relations Forum, and a member of Brookings Institute International Advisory Council (IAC), Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD), Foreign Economic Relations Board, Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and Association of Woman Entrepreneurs.
As part of her initiatives, she is also heading one of Turkey’s most successful social mobilization projects, the “Dad, Send Me to School” Campaign. Working to overcome the barriers against the education of girls in Turkey, the campaign raised over TL 32 million in four years to sponsor scholarships, build girls’ dormitories and create training programs.
Hanzade Doğan Boyner was also the Chair of the seven member jury for Ernst and Young’s World Entrepreneur of the Year Award at Monte Carlo in which 32 companies from 32 countries competed. She was named one of two Turkish women in the world’s most influential women list by Fortune Magazine in 2007.
Hanzade Doğan Boyner is married and has one child.
